Elemental Healing.
5 elements, different ways of working.
The approach
The elements are the framework through which I approach healing: earth, water, fire, air and space.
The elements are at the core of esoteric Buddhism and animism. Each element carries different qualities and offers a different way of understanding our experience. Sometimes we may need grounding and stability; at other times, movement, clarity, transformation, perspective or a sense of connection to something larger.
Elemental sessions are not prescribed according to a fixed formula. I work intuitively and responsively, drawing on the elements alongside Tibetan sound bowls, meditation, ritual and energy work according to what is present and what may be supportive for you.
You don't need to know which element you want to work with before you come. We can discover that together.
Earth is the element of what holds us.
It relates to grounding, embodiment, stability, nourishment, structure and our relationship with the physical world. It is also connected with a deeper sense of enoughness — the capacity to inhabit ourselves and our lives without constantly needing to grasp for something more.
Earth-focused work may be supportive when life feels unsteady or overwhelming, when you feel disconnected from your body or sense of place, or when you are needing greater stability, containment or support.
Most clients will start with earth element and may need to work with it for some time to develop more resilience in the nervous system, before going deeper.
Earth
Grounding · stability · embodiment · nourishment · equanimity
Water
Flow · feeling · receptivity · reflection · clarity · relationship
Water is the element of flow and feeling.
It relates to emotion, intuition, relationship, receptivity and our capacity to move with change. Water can also teach us something about reflection — allowing experience to be seen clearly without immediately needing to react to it.
Water-focused work may be supportive during times of grief, emotional transition or when something in life is asking to be felt, released or allowed to move.
An invitation to soften, listen and allow what is present to have its own movement.
Fire is the element of vitality and transformation.
It relates to energy, desire, creativity, attraction and the forces that move us toward change. Fire also brings the capacity to recognise what is meaningful and to discern what is truly calling for our attention.
Fire-focused work may be supportive when you feel stagnant, disconnected from your vitality, or ready for something to shift.
Fire can help us reconnect with what is alive in us — with our capacity to appreciate, create, transform and move toward what matters.
Fire
Vitality · transformation · desire · discernment · creativity · life force
Air
Movement · responsiveness · adaptability · action · possibility
Air is the element of movement.
It relates to breath, change, adaptability, communication and our capacity to respond to what life asks of us. Air brings movement where things have become fixed, and can support the capacity to act with clarity and effectiveness.
Air-focused work may be supportive when you feel stuck, restricted or unable to move forward, or when you are seeking a new way of responding to a situation.
Air invites movement, responsiveness and the possibility of something new.
Space is the element of openness and totality.
It is the space out of which all other elements arise. It relates to spaciousness, awareness, interconnectedness and our relationship to the larger field of life.
Space-focused work may be supportive when you are seeking a broader perspective, moving through existential questions, or feeling caught within a limited view of yourself or your circumstances.
Space invites us to step beyond the immediacy of experience and sense ourselves within something larger — without needing to push anything away.
It is an invitation toward wholeness: not grasping, not rejecting, but allowing things to be as they are.
Some clients feel called to explore space clearing, when working with space element. You can learn more here.

The elements are not fixed categories.
Some clients may focus on earth element for months, in order to build resilience in the nervous system before going deeper. While for others we may focus on many elements in a single session. Sometimes what is called for is not the element that seems the most obvious. I listen to what is present and work responsively with you. Allowing the session to take the shape that is needed.
