The Web of Life
We will gather in a peaceful, leafy setting in Sassafras to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.
Shamans view humans as but one member of the Web of Life. They recognise mountains, rivers, oceans, animals, plants, even stones, as members of the same family.
As with any family, harmony and balanced giving and receiving (Ayni) between its members is what ensures safety, happiness, and vitality. Falling out of Ayni with any member of that Web of Life can manifest emotionally, physically, psychologically or spiritually.
When we give too much and don’t know how to receive, or take too much and don’t know how to give, we fall out of Ayni.
The Buddhist concept of interconnectedness (or interdependence) considers that all phenomena exist as part of a vast Web of Life, with nothing arising or existing in isolation. From this view, the perceived boundary between self and other begins to soften, creating conditions for compassion and care to naturally arise—for ourselves, for other beings, and for the planet.
In this sense, both Shamanic and Buddhist approaches suggest that healing comes from reconnection. Together we will explore what it means to be in right relationship with the cosmos working with practices grounded in both Buddhism Andean Shamanism.
We will spend a whole day together.
We will slow down and reflect:
What is the Web of Life?
How can we stay in right relationship with the Web of Life and how do we draw upon it as a resource for individual and collective healing?
We will engage in healing processes and rituals:
Tibetan Buddhist Interconnectedness healing meditation with Sound bowls to balance the 6 elements within and without.
Despacho (creation of a mandala for ritual offering).
Fire ceremony.
Reflection through journalling and small groups.
